M-Pesa is the default, not an add-on

For businesses handling many small transactions daily — a car wash, a salon, a shop — this alone can save hours a week that used to go into manual reconciliation.

It also reduces disputes: a customer who says 'I paid' can be checked against the system in seconds rather than a search through M-Pesa statements.

Beyond simple payments

More advanced use cases matter too — automatic M-Pesa payouts to farmers in a milk collection system, or rent collection with automatic tenant balance updates in a property management system. Any system built for the Kenyan market should treat M-Pesa as core infrastructure, not a plugin.
